About Cranial Sacral Therapy
Cranial Sacral
Therapy
The Cranial Sacral System is
composed of cerebral spinal fluid and membranes that surround and protect
the brain and spinal cord. The Cranial Sacral System extends from the bones
of the skull and face (cranium) down the spine to the tailbone (sacrum).
A gentle rhythm originates from the movement of the cerebral spinal fluid
as it circulates through the system. By applying a gentle touch to the cranium,
sacrum and connective tissue with subtle pressure and intention, the therapist
uses the rhythm to feel where the Qi is blocked or not flowing smoothly.
Combination of Acupuncture and
Cranial Sacral Therapy
Marianne uses the cranial sacral rhythm as
a guide to locate where the Qi is not flowing smoothly. This is often the
source of pain or discomfort. Once the source is located, the acupuncture
needles are used to dispel the pain or discomfort allowing the Qi to flow
smoothly, creating a state of balance in the body.
The combination of Acupuncture and Cranial Sacral Therapy creates an advanced
holistic form of diagnosis and treatment while gently encouraging the whole
body towards wellness and optimal functioning.
